Multiple studies have shown over-expression of the EGFR receptor in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) compared with normal renal tissue, and EGFR expression in RCC was localized to the cell membrane, whereas the EGFR expression in normal kidney tissues was chiefly observed in the cytoplasm, and this different location of EGFR expression could be associated with human renal tumourogenesis [3]. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and renal cell carcinoma.
