A one unit increment of natural log of PTH was significantly associated with a 1.78-fold increased risk of hypertension [OR = 1.78, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.38–2.28, P<0.0001] in the crude model and a 1.41-fold increased risk of hypertension (OR = 1.41, 95%CI 1.08–1.83, P = 0.01) in model adjusted for age and sex, respectively. The gene discussed is PTH; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
