Due to the highly conserved nature of many neuroendocrine signaling pathways represented in our data, such as insulin/IGF-1, glucocorticoid, and androgen signaling, it is possible that the snapshot of transcriptional alterations captured in these experiments may include mechanisms for the establishment and maintenance of a metabolic set point in other species, with relevance for the prevention and treatment of obesity. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and obesity disorder.
