BRAF and metastatic colorectal cancer: They concluded that the prognostic role of the KRAS mutations in an adjuvant setting has to be determined.23 In recent clinical studies, it was published that the BRAF V600E mutation in metastatic colorectal cancer is conferred to a poor prognosis regardless of treatment, but these patients may have some benefit from the treatment with cetuximab in combination with chemotherapy as the first-line therapy, but not when used in the patients in whom the disease has progressed after the first-line therapy.17
