ADIPOQ and obesity disorder: Therefore, the objective of the present study was to determine whether canine obesity-related metabolic dysfunction (ORMD, using a definition modified from that used for human MS) could be identified in pet dogs with naturally-occurring obesity, and whether it correlated with specific patient characteristics (e.g. signalment, body fat content), metabolic (e.g. adiponectin, insulin) and inflammatory (e.g. high-sensitivity C-reactive protein; hsCRP) biomarkers.
