Interestingly, in spite of varied sampling sites or early/late onset of preeclampsia, increased gene expression of SIGLEC6 is repeatedly observed in microarray gene profiling studies in preeclamptic placenta [27-29,31,32,36], implying deregulated SIGLEC6 may be tightly associated with pathogenesis of preeclampsia. The gene discussed is SIGLEC6; the disease is preeclampsia.
