The mean haptoglobin concentration was found to be 0.208±0.048 and 0.333±0.06 g/L in FM and VM patients respectively, while the healthy and leptospirosis (FC) populations exhibited a mean values of 0.918±0.1 g/L and 0.888±0.056 g/L (mean ± SE). This evidence concerns the gene HP and leptospirosis.
