Our data suggest that eEF-2K may enhance tumorigenesis through the up-regulation of pro-tumorigenic proteins and pathways including cyclin D1, c-Myc, c-Src/FAK and Akt (Figure 8) whose dysregulation are associated with a poor prognosis in breast cancer [73]–[75]. The gene discussed is EEF2K; the disease is breast carcinoma.
