Selective mTOR kinase inhibitors appear to be as effective as panPI3K/mTOR inhibitors in models of Ph+ leukemia (Carayol et al., 2010; Janes et al., 2010) and MM (Maiso et al., 2011), with lesser toxicity (Janes et al., 2010). This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and Miyoshi myopathy.
