Additionally, NPAS3 has been linked to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (Pickard et al., 2009), CLSTN2 has been associated with memory performance (Papassotiropoulos et al., 2006) and with Alzheimer’s disease (Liu et al., 2007), and RBFOX1 (A2BP1) has been very recently discovered as a splicing regulator of neuronal excitation and calcium homeostasis in the brain (Gehman et al., 2011). Here, NPAS3 is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
