Other X- chromosome-related genes with differences between the populations were STS (steroid sulfatase) that was primarily deleted in Caucasians and amplified in AAs and KAL1, with a pattern similar to Xist. STS is known to be involved in female cancers, such as ovarian and breast cancers [37], [38], but not much is known about its potential role in CRC.
