When comparing our study with previously reported hypoxia-related alternative splicing events, we find no overlap: lama3 was identified in head and neck cancers [19], hif3a in mouse heart [70], bnip3 in cardiac myocytes [71], cyr61 in several tumor cell lines [72], psen2 in neuroblastoma cells [73] and pfkfb3 when comparing different hypoxic mouse tissues [74]. Here, HIF3A is linked to head and neck cancer.
