LTF and Sjogren syndrome: The authors concluded that the most efficient combination of test for the oral component of Sjögren’s syndrome was salivary gland biopsy (sensitivity 95%, specificity 75%, positive predictive value 90%, negative predictive value 14%) plus salivary flow rate (sensitivity 68%, specificity 81%, positive predictive value 90%, negative predictive value 50%) or salivary lactoferrin (sensitivity 58%, specificity 75%, positive predictive value 82%, negative predictive value 53%).
