PGF and endothelial dysfunction: Recent data have suggested that endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia results from an antiangiogenic state mediated by high circulating levels of soluble Fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt1) and soluble endoglin in concert with low levels of proangiogenic factors like placental growth factor (PlGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).
