Previous investigations have revealed that focal cerebral ischemia caused by transient middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion as well as global cerebral ischemia caused by subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is associated with upregulation of vasocontractile endothelin type B (ETB) and 5-hydroxotryptamin type 1B (5-HT1B) receptors in cerebral arteries supplying the ischemic tissue [10]–[14]. Here, EDNRB is linked to subarachnoid hemorrhage.
