The inflammation-related molecules simultaneously quantified in 100 serum samples of colon cancer patients (stages I to IV) were: IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, VEGF, EGF, TNFα, IFNγ, MCP-1, but only IL-8 serum levels showed a statistically significant difference between controls and adenocarcinoma patients. This evidence concerns the gene IL1A and colonic neoplasm.
