Our results were broadly consistent with the study by Dr. Greenberg’s group [26], and further documented that the reduction of brain infarction in Ngb-overexpressing transgenic mice can be sustained up to 14 days after ischemia compared to wild type controls, suggesting that Ngb overexpression is neuroprotective against transient focal cerebral ischemia, but the involved mechanisms need to be further characterized. Here, NGB is linked to ischemia.
