Since Ngb is an intracellular protein that normally does not cross cell membranes, except in zebrafish [15], delivery of exogenous Ngb protein is generally considered unfeasible as a therapy, especially for CNS disorders such as stroke, thus seeking small molecules capable of up-regulating endogenous Ngb may lead to the development of new approaches for the treatment of stroke and related disorders. This evidence concerns the gene NGB and Stroke.
