CRP and infection: The PROVE IT TIMI 22 (PRavastatin Or atorVastatin Evaluation and Infection Therapy – Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction 22) study highlighted that the CRP levels after statin therapy were as efficient in predicting CAD as LDL levels.35 The recent JUPITER study also highlighted the pro-atherosclerotic role of CRP and its response to statin therapy.36
