Indeed, applying the callings provided by TaqMan and MLPA in this sample, we obtained a significant association (p = 3.40 × 10-4, OR = 0.74 [0.62-0.87] and p = 1.15 × 10-4, OR = 0.72 [0.61-0.85], respectively) between the trend on the number of copies at GSTM1 and bladder cancer risk. The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is urinary bladder cancer.
