Using an antibody that detects endogenous levels of total LC3B protein and has a stronger reactivity with the type II form of LC3B, immunofluorescence and Western blot techniques were performed to evaluate changes in autophagy between placentas from women with normal pregnancies and those with pregnancies complicated by IUGR, PE, or PE+IUGR. This evidence concerns the gene MAP1LC3B and fetal growth restriction.
