Leach et al. [29] undertook a cohort study to determine serum S100A12 concentrations in 39 children with IBD (mean age 9.7 ± 4.5 years: 29 with Crohn's disease (CD), 4 with ulcerative colitis (UC), and 6 with IBD unclassified) and 33 age-matched non IBD controls. This evidence concerns the gene S100A12 and irritable bowel syndrome.
