Further, the prevalence of MGMT methylated glioblastoma is not different in the two non-CIMP methylation clusters defined by Noushmehr et al. [29], nor are they enriched in any of the expression-based glioblastoma subtypes, suggesting that MGMT methylation is not associated with a particular pathogenetic mechanism involved in the development of de novo glioblastoma.
