CD4 and cytomegalovirus infection: The identification of gB-derived peptides such as those reported here may be of use in tracking clonal expansion of gB-specific CD4+ T cells during CMV infection and in monitoring the immune response of subjects vaccinated with recombinant gB or with recombinant vectors coding for gB, provided they allow for a significant coverage of the population on the basis of the frequency of the relevant HLA-class II alleles.
