ADAM17 is reported to have a direct functional role in controlling proliferation and/or migration of cells derived from many tumour types [12], [13], [14], [15], [16], [17], [18], [19], [20], and it has been implicated in controlling endothelial cell migration [21] and pathological angiogenesis [22], [23], which is also relevant to tumour growth.
