CDKN2B and neoplasm: Promoter hypermethylation has been observed in a large number of regulator genes in tumor pathogenesis, including p15INK4b (hypermethylated in hematological malignancies), p73 (hypermethylated in lymphomas) and ER (receptor for estrogen-induced transcriptional activation), the DNA repair genes MGMT and GSTP1 (related to the prevention of oxidative DNA damage), TIMP3 and DAPK1 [42–44].
