Several case-control studies have investigated the association between miR-146a rs2910164 polymorphism and risks of various cancers.[31]–[35] The C allele gene displayed decreased production of mature miR-146a compared with G allele and led to less efficient inhibition of target genes including IL-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1), TNF receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) and papillary thyroid carcinoma 1 gene (PTC1) [36].
