PLAT and infection: Using our tPA-Pb9-rLuc8PV reporter system, we did not observe dramatic differences in levels of rLuc in vitro at early time-points post-infection, unlike the original finding with a β-galactosidase reporter [11] and another study using cytomegalovirus pp65 [55], though the augmented late promoter activity of mH5 was apparent (Figure 5A).
