Fig. 2B shows that in all carcinoma cell lines Ro 31-8220, but not CPG 41251, effectively reduced phosphorylation of the PKC substrates. The same data were obtained under conditions of serum starvation of cells when pretreatment with Ro 31-8220 effectively prevented PKC from TPA activation, whereas CPG 41–251 was only partially effective (Fig. 2B). The gene discussed is PRRT2; the disease is carcinoma.
