These results demonstrated that c-Src-dependent EGFR transactivation plays a critical role in ET-1-induced COX-2 expression and PGE2 release, consistent with previous reports showing the involvement of EGFR transactivation in ET-1-induced cell proliferation in ovarian cancer cells [29] and thrombin- or ET-1-induced COX-2 expression in VSMCs [4,30,44]. This evidence concerns the gene EDN1 and ovarian carcinoma.
