Pre-existed CKD and development of acute worsening of renal function during hospital were still the independent risk factors for all-cause mortality in total cohort after adjustment by age, gender, smoking, blood pressure, LDL or HDL cholesterol, serum albumin, hemoglobin, co-morbid diseases, and renal function (serum creatinine and eGFR) on admission. Here, ALB is linked to chronic kidney disease.
