Our results were in agreement with previous studies of other malignancies, including gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and nasopharyngeal carcinoma et al, in which overexpression of HMGB1 in tumor tissue has been observed and a correlation between overexpression of HMGB1 and poorer prognosis has been established [18-21]. This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and gastric cancer.
