CRP and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: In the present study, more males showed high risk levels of HS-CRP than females, similar to Breyer's study (2005-2007)[11] which showed an increased likelihood for highly elevated CRP in males.Overall, considering this fact that in the present study COPD gold stages were significantly higher in males, maybe the reason of higher CRP levels in men was higher stages of disease in these patients.
