Intravitreal plasmin injection before or during vitrectomy has been studied in multiple case series for diabetic macular edema associated with a thick and adherent posterior hyaloid face,25 idiopathic and traumatic macular holes,26–28 proliferative diabetic retinopathy,29 diabetic tractional retinal detachment,30 vitreomacular traction syndrome31 and retinopathy of prematurity.32,33.
