The importance of reduced MCP-1/CCR2 expression on fibrosis has been demonstrated in recent studies showing that blocking MCP-1 by RNA oligonucleotides significantly decreases CCl4-induced murine hepatic fibrosis [37], and that CCR2 knockout mice treated with CCl4 had significantly reduced hepatic fibrosis [36]. This evidence concerns the gene CCR2 and Hepatic fibrosis.
