Hypoglycemia-associated autonomic failure syndrome is a description of the "vicious cycle" that results in inadequate epinephrine secretion: recent antecedent episodes of hypoglycemia (as often occur in diabetics on intensive insulin therapy) cause a reduction in the epinephrine response to subsequent hypoglycemic events and lower the glucose level required before the epinephrine response is triggered. Here, INS is linked to Hypoglycemia.
