INS and polycystic ovary syndrome: Compared with their non-obese counterparts, obese and overweight PCOS women had higher WHR (p = 0.02), DBP (p = 0.017), FAI levels (p = 0.035), fasting glucose (p = 0.009), fasting insulin (p = 0.003), HOMA-IR (p = 0.001), total and trunk fat mass % (p < 0.001), hsCRP concentrations (p = 0.045) and a lower QUICKI (p = 0.001) and SHBG concentrations (p = 0.031).
