The purpose of the present study was then to determine if the NLRP3 inflammasome was activated with the exacerbated production of IL-1β and IL-18 in the kidney of STZ-induced diabetic rats associated with high urate level and lipid metabolism abnormality, and conversely, if quercetin and allopurinol inhibited renal NLRP3 inflammasome activation involved in their actions on hyperuricemia and lipid metabolism disorder in this model. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and hyperuricemia.
