Our previous study showed that quercetin attenuated fructose-induced hyperuricemia and renal dysfunction through the regulation of renal urate transport-related proteins such as short isoform of glucose transporter 9 (rGLUT9), renal-specific transporter (rRST), organic anion transporters 1 (rOAT1) and electrogenic urate transporter (rUAT) in rats [20]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC22A6 and hyperuricemia.
