In 2007, Tanaka and colleagues [18], using male BALB/c mice, described a new arthritis model - termed DTH arthritis - in which arthritis can be induced in a single paw by immunization with methylated bovine serum albumin (mBSA) combined with injection of a low dose of an anti-CII antibody cocktail (anti-CII) followed by challenge with mBSA locally in the paw. Here, ALB is linked to arthritic joint disease.
