This modulation could explain the increase of KCa3.1 current observed following short exposure (90 min) of glioblastoma cells to CXCL12, since noise analysis indicates that the KCa3.1 current increase is due to an increased number of channels in the membrane (our unpublished data), while no changes in the KCa3.1 channel mRNA levels are observed [70]. This evidence concerns the gene KCNN4 and glioblastoma.
