CYP19A1 and breast carcinoma: Our results are in line with what was previously seen in a comprehensive assessment of common genetic variation in known steroid metabolism genes, including SHBG and CYP19A1, which found no significant associations of these SNPs with breast cancer risk among 6,292 predominantly postmenopausal breast cancer cases and 8,135 controls (of which CGEMS participants were a part) [26].
