EP300 and cancer: Considering that the mechanism by which coactivator p300 promotes gene transcription may vary among gene targets, it is not very hard for us to understand that the function of p300 and its underling mechanism(s) to impact cancer progression may lead to this discrepancy, our findings suggest a potential important role of p300 in the control of NPC cell proliferation, an activity that might be responsible, at least in part, for NPC tumorigenesis and/or progression.
