Further studies have shown that AEG-1 is markedly overexpressed in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma [8], gastric cancer [9], CRC [10], hepatocellular carcinoma [11], non-small cell lung cancer [12], neuroblastoma [13], breast cancer [7,14], prostate cancer [15] and renal cancer [16], compared to normal cells and the matched non-neoplastic regions. This evidence concerns the gene MTDH and breast carcinoma.
