Overall, the inhibition caused by the emmprin siRNA affected cell proliferation, migration and invasion through TGF-β, EGF, NF-κB, VEGF, MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression, which in turn resulted in increased levels of E-cadherin and reduced levels of Vimentin and Snail in endometrial cancer. Here, MMP9 is linked to endometrial cancer.
