It is important to realize that the core hypotheses of the study of Zobel et al. was to postulate specific relationships between changes in three formulated domains of correlates of depressive disorders, to mention the severity of depressive symptoms, cognitive measures and HPA responsivity to the DEX/CRH test using repeated measurements over a period of 4 weeks; our study was pointed towards another question, investigating the potential role of HPA axis dysfunction in order to explain the relationship between cognitive dysfunction and depressive symptoms. This evidence concerns the gene CRH and depressive disorder.
