In the present study, we hypothesized that galectin-3 deficiency increases hepatic injury in mice with NASH induced by a choline-deficient l-amino-acid-defined (CDAA) diet, because galectin-3 is a negative regulator of lipopolysaccharide-mediated inflammation [35].
