LGALS3 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis: Additionally, the data we obtained by microarray analysis of gene expression suggested that galectin-3 deficiency, in the background of CDAA diet-induced NAFLD/NASH, may cause alterations in the expression of various genes associated with cancer, cell death, cellular assembly and organization, cellular function and maintenance, organismal injury and abnormalities, and carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
