Results of our study suggest also that endothelial dysfunction at assessment 2–24 months (average 10 months) after delivery in nondiabetic women with pGDM is characterized by higher plasma levels of circulating ICAM-1, sE-selectin, and tPA:Ag in women with normal glucose regulation as well as pGDM women with prediabetic state, matched for age, body fat indexes values, inflammation, and PAI-1:Ag level. This evidence concerns the gene SERPINE1 and endothelial dysfunction.
