To assess whether the infection with DCL or LCL L. amazonensis isolates distinctly modulates the inflammatory activity of host cells, we evaluated the levels of TGF-β1, TNF-α and IL-10 in the supernatants of peritoneal macrophages infected with either DCL (BA276, BA336, and BA700) or LCL (BA69, BA73, BA 125, and M2269) isolates. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and infection.
