Figure 4 demonstrates that following rMP-12-NSs-Flag infection, p53 expression is increased and highly nuclear in nature, confirming the results presented in Figures 1, 2 and 3. NSs filaments were observed in approximately 60% of all cells. Cells with NSs filaments displayed nuclear abnormalities, such as lobulated nuclei, as has recently been published by Mansuroglu et al., 2010 [41]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is infection.
