It is already known that lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), is a risk marker for endothelial dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes and recent data suggest that Lp-PLA2 might be a biomarker constantly correlated with HF, regardless of aetiology [6-7]. This evidence concerns the gene PLA2G7 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
