Among the biological markers of vascular risk studied, the logistic regression analysis clearly showed high OPG (≥10.71 pmol/L) as the only one variable to be significantly associated with moderate CAC ([100–400[) (OR = 2.73 [1.03;7.26]; p = 0.04) after adjustment for age, gender, diabetes and smoking. The gene discussed is TNFRSF11B; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
